If a product is being replaced with a new product you can follow the process below to help smooth the transition between products.

  1. Create the new product with the new details
  2. Add the new product to the appropriate active price book(s)
  3. Relate the new product in the “Maps To” field of the old product. 
    1. As long as the new product is active as well, and future runs of the renewal refresher will replace the product on future renewals. NOTE: This will not automatically replace the product retroactively if the renewal refresher is not run across all active subscriptions. You may need to force a run across those accounts.
  4. You can choose to do the following to remove the old product from being used.
    1. Mark the Old Product as "Inactive" in the pricebook.
    2. Leave the Old Product as "Active" in the pricebook, with the following options
      1. Set the Product to "Admin Only" - this allows admins to still use it OR
      2. Set the Product to "Non Quotable" - this removes the quoting ability from everyone.

Note: Products that are used in a Quote can never be deleted. Products that have never been used can be deleted.

Additionally, there is no mapping for Bundles or Bundle Line Items.
