About Product Tiers

  • Product Tiers allow you to calculate discounts based on volume purchases
  • Scenarios for Product Tiers include use cases like:
    • Providing a Discount based on volume of an initial purchase
    • Providing a Discount based on an Add-on Purchase that includes active quantity purchased as well as increased quantity during the Add-on order
  • Tiers can either calculate always using List Price, or from the Unit Price "As Sold".
    • The default method is always set to calculate the Discount using List Price.
  • Tiers can also be calculated using a Fixed List and Sales Price instead of a discount.
  • Tier Blocks can be used to set a Fixed Block (not per unit price) rate across a Tier Threshold. In this case, the Quantity will be 1 and the Block Quantity will be the user entered quantity. The extended price will only be calculated using the Fixed Price entered for the Block Tier * Quantity 1 (not the block quantity entered).

Setting Product Tiers

  • Browse to the product you would like to set the Product Tier for.
  • Click the ”Tiers” button

  • Set your Discount % as well as the Quantity that will need to be met or exceeded to receive the discount

Note: Make sure you add a 0 Quantity and 0 discount Tier, this ensures the Discount will recalculate when removing a tier or dropping below the lowest quantity/discount threshold.

  • Use the Trash Can icon in the Action column to the right to delete a Tier.

  • Click "Add Tier" to insert a new blank line.

  • Be sure to click "Save" when you're done adding Tiers.

Note: You will also need to check the “Has Tier” box on the Product to enable the tier calculations for this product.

Setting the Calculation Method
