If you have a scenario where a product is sold as a percentage based product, but it needs to be added to your renewal base as a fixed price, and sold on the renewal as a fixed price, you can use the "Percent Renewal" field on the Pricebook Entry.

A good example of this is when you sell maintenance on the original order as 10% of products (such as hardware) exist on the original order, but you need that price to carry over and not recalculate on the Renewal (where the non-recurring products don't carry over).

To set this up, simply browse to the Product, and then it's pricebook entry.

Change the "Percent Renewal" field to "Fixed". This will ensure the price is fixed on all future renewal quotes.

Note: This is also available on the Quote Line Level. You could use a workflow rule to update the "Percent Renewal" field to "Fixed" on any quote line item in a Renewal to change it to fixed, without changing the pricebook entry.
