Renewals Opportunities can be automatically booked using the auto-renewal utility. This is helpful when you have a large volume of month to month contracts, or contracts with an auto-renewal clause.

Setup:

To setup Opportunities to be automatically booked, you'll need to fill in the "Auto Renewal Date" field on the Opportunity to the day you would like it to close. This can be done through standard Salesforce workflow.

Enabling the Automation:

Browse to the Transaction Management Setup Tab. On the "Home" tab, you'll see the Scheduled Job Status widget. Find the "Auto Renewal" setting, and click the Power button. (Red means it is deactivated). Once active, it will turn green.

The job should now be scheduled to run each night at 1am local time.
