What it is?

One time discounts allow users or admins to define a "One Time Discount" that doesn't persist into the Baseline or "Expected" value at the Renewal. One Time Discounts are defined as a percentage and can be entered into the Quote Line Entry screen. The best way to think of the One Time Discount functionality is that it is an offset of the applied discount.

How it works?

Permissioned users enter a discount percentage into the Quote Line Entry screen on the line item they would like to define a one time discount. This is not additive to the applied discount, but is subtracted from the applied discount.

For example: A User enters 20% in the applied discount and 10% in the One Time Discount. The net discount at renewal will be 10%.

Here is an example with actual prices based off the scenario above:

  • Per Unit List Price : $100.00
  • Per Unit Sales Price: $80.00
  • Renewal Price: $90.00

NOTE: The One Time Discount only applies to the user applied discount, and cannot be greater than the applied discount. Term, Tier, or Partner Discounts are not taken into account.

Setting it up:

In order to apply the discount, the User will need to have the "Allow One Time Discounts" permission setup by an admin.

Users who do not have the permission, will still see the discount in their Quote Entry screen:
