Making changes can impact functionality and expected results. We have attempted to capture the basic fields on Products and Pricebook Entries we most commonly find that users have questions about.
Field Change | Object | Severity | Impact |
Product Name | Product | Low | This change is retroactive for all places the product shows up, but has little impact on functionality. |
Product Family | Product | Medium | This change can impact percentage based calculations and the product selection display on the Quote entry page. |
Recurring | Product | High | Generally products should not move from being recurring vs non, but it will have an impact on products that are renewed. We recommend that you do not make this change unless no products have been quoted. Contact TYSO Support if you have a special use case for this. |
Admin Only | Pricebook Entry | Medium | Users who are not quote admins, will no longer be able to quote the products on their own. |
Annual Price | Pricebook Entry | Medium | Make sure you adjust the price book unit price accordingly, as the price will calculate differently in the Quote Line Editor and all automation. Additionally, this is non-retroactive, so an old "List Price" might not show up correctly if you compare a product's price to previously quoted products. |
Unit Price | Pricebook Entry | Low | We store the "List Price" at the line item, so as long as your reports reference those fields, this change will be low impact. It does not retroactively change any products that have already been priced. |
Has Tier | Product | Medium | This product field change can have a medium impact for existing Tiered products, but changing the actual tier values will have a bigger impact. If a Tier Level needs to change, it's best to mark it as "Inactive" and replace it with a new value. |
