In addition to using Upgrade Paths, you can also allow users to easily swap products by using "Offsets". Offsets add a button for purchased products to the Quote Interface that automatically inserts an appropriate negative value line item to the quote. From there, the user can add the new product.

Setting up/Configuring:

  1. Create a Permission set called "TYSO Offset Permissions"
  2. Assign the permission set to the users you want to be able to use offsets.

Using Offsets:

Once the permission set is assigned, the user will see the offset button in the Quote Line Editor for any purchased products.

Simply click "Offset" and the negative value line will be added. Note that this line is not configurable, the price and quantity will match what has been purchased.

Offsets are better used when you have a complex upgrade/swap structure and want to make it simple to subtract products.

NOTE: Reporting with offsets is different than upgrades and you will not see a direct correlation between the line that was subtracted and added.
