Wildcard rules allow you to warn users based on a product Family or product Category that is included in the Quote.

Wildcard rules must be created from the "Rules" tab since they are not related to a specific product or Bundle.

Here are some real-life rule scenarios for wildcard rules:

• Create a rule to warn a user if a certain Product Family "Subscriptions" is on a New Business Quote, but there should also be a product from a different family, such as "Services"
  • Scope = Current Order
  • Rule Type = Requires
  • SubType = Family
  • Action = Warn
  • Transaction Types = New Business
  • Text Criteria = Subscriptions
  • Product Required = Services
• Create a rule to warn a user if a certain Product Family "Subscriptions" is on all types of Quote, but there should also be a specific product included.
  • Scope = Current Order
  • Rule Type = Requires
  • SubType = Family
  • Action = Warn
  • Transaction Types = New Business, Existing Business, Renewal
  • Text Criteria = Subscriptions
