NOTE: The process for the standard vs Enhanced Opp Wizard is different. Please take note below to the two different versions.



ENHANCED WIZARD PROCESS


If you are using the Enhanced Opp Wizard released after Spring 2019 (6.x)+ and would like to add additional fields on the Opportunity Creation Screen, follow these steps.


The Enhanced Opp Wizard allows for different sets of fields while creating different types of Opportunities, based on the Account Type.


  • First, create the relevant Field Sets (or you can use the same for multiples) Setup-->Customize-->Opportunities-->Field Sets
  • Name the Field Set(s) so that you can identify them. Keep track of the API Name for the field Sets you would like to use.
  • Add The Fields and Save the field sets.
  • In Salesforce Setup, browse to the Custom Metadata Type objects
  • Find "Account Mapping" and click "Manage Records"


  • Select the Type you would like to set the field set for. In this Example we have a "Prospect" Account (New Business) and a "Customer" Account (Existing Business).
  • Enter the appropriate Field Set API Name into the Field Set field.

  • Click "Save"



STANDARD OPP WIZARD PROCESS


If you are using the Standard Wizard and would like to add additional fields on the Opportunity Creation Screen, follow these steps.


Setup-->Customize-->Opportunities-->Field Sets


Create a new Field Set and make sure the API Name is "Opp_Create".




Add your fields into the Field Set and click "Save". Make sure you don't add too many fields, the intent is to keep the create screen very simple!
